About Elizabeth Morrison
An educator for 37 years, I taught seven years for the Continuing Education Department at Mitchell Community College. Later, during my years in elementary education, I served as testing coordinator for my school, IEP Team chairperson, technology specialist at my school and for the EC Department. I earned a Masters in SPED in 1990. Since moving from elementary to high school, besides A-Team duties, IEP Team Chair, and PLC chair, I served as part of the OCS test development and standards team for NCDPI beginning in 2006 to 2011. I was pleased to teach in a district committed to quality that was a 2008 recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. From January to June of 2009, I participated in the NCDPI Accountability and Curriculum Reform Effort (ACRE) to develop the new OCS math curriculum. Additionally, I have written and reviewed elementary, middle, and high school test items for NCDPI through TOPS at NC State through 2011. Since 2007, I have been employed by Pearson at the premier Charlotte summer site as a National Board scorer. I also served as the SAT site supervisor at Lake Norman High School. In Sept 2010, I moved to North Lincoln High to teach OCS English blended learning courses with NCVPS. For 2011-2012 , I relocated to Davie High to teach English for OCS, then moved back to elementary at Pinebrook in 2012. I graduated in December 2010 from ASU with a Masters in Educational Leadership (Educational Media - Technology), and also received Masters Certification in Assistive Technology from ECU in December 2012. Since 2010, I have earned five grants in technology. In June 2013, I became IMSLEC Certified through The Hill Center in Durham. In 2016, I received certification as the first Math Foundations Trainer in Davie County.
