Founding Member and CEO of Events At Hemlock Springs; a luxury event and wedding venue located on 100 stunning acres in the world-famous Red River Gorge. My partner and I have built both the facility and the business from the ground up, serving as general contractors, designers, and innovators. We conducted extensive market research, wrote a comprehensive business plan, and successfully launched and ran our business. Over the years we expanded and grew by adding lodging onsite which we designed and built from the ground up as the general contractors. We grew our business to include an alcohol license to provide bar and beverage service; crafting each detail from the menu selections, to cocktail recipes with guest experience as the top priority. We entertained multiple offers and eventually sold the business in 2023 to the current owner.

Berea, Ky

Provide support and oversight for the implementation of literacy and health, nutrition and physical activity programs for school aged children in Southeastern Kentucky. Facilitated collaborative community-wide initiative for the "Get Ready Get Safe" emergency preparedness program in rural Kentucky. Represented the organization in VIP visits and in key stakeholder meetings. Organized and presented information, strategies and best practices for the successful implementation for regional trainings and conferences.

Took a non-profit, around since 1987, and re-branded it to reflect specific goals and objectives to include the community at a grassroots level. Within the first two years, I turned the organization into the regional front-runner and expert in the field of prevention. I identified critical stakeholders and developed solid working relationships with law enforcement, government officials, healthcare providers, schools, churches, parents and youth. I collaborated with State agencies to enforce existing laws and regulations as well as elected officials, to change policies and laws. I conducted information gathering and ongoing community needs assessments to ensure that strategies being implemented were effective and that funds were used appropriately. I attended trainings and conferences to increase knowledge on prevention strategies and have been invited to present information at several conferences and workshops. Managed all client intake, payment and scheduling for Dr. Debbie Alsheimer. Organized files, interviewed clients and took notes on their progress and needs. Designed website and newsletter for the business as well as basic marketing needs including scheduling speaking engagements and advertising. Occasionally assisted Dr. Alsheimer in working directly with clients using cold laser therapy, stretching techniques and running biofeedback programs.● Developed good report with clients to make their visit comfortable and pleasant.● Wrote engaging articles for the company newsletter on various health and nutrition topics.● Designed marketing materials and website for the company.● Tracked reports, created invoices and company earnings sheets using QuickBooks software.

Responsible for testing language abilities for student’s whose primary language was not English, and then designing and implementing work plans to assist them with language acquisition skills. Interpreted for conferences and translated educational and communications materials.● Worked with school staff to create welcoming environment for non-native families.● Developed first Spanish Club in elementary schools to develop bilingual skills for students to learn English/Spanish respectively as well as culture appreciation.● Called on to represent Shelby County Public Schools in speaking engagements about the growth of the ESL program and its strengths.● Organized school-wide assemblies and events to educate and welcome students and families.● Served on Family Resource Center Advisory Council.● Presented original educational materials to assist students to the Shelby County Public School Board.
