My personal journey with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, diagnosed in childhood, ignited my passion for healthcare and inspired me to pursue a career dedicated to helping others. As a pediatric patient, I experienced firsthand the profound impact that compassionate, skilled care can have, and this continues to motivate me as I work toward becoming a physician with a focus on pediatrics.During my gap years, I am gaining valuable experience in various healthcare settings, including working as a nurse aide in both nursing homes and inpatient medical-surgical units. These roles have strengthened my clinical skills, such as monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and practicing phlebotomy, while also honing my ability to provide empathetic, patient-focused care. Additionally, my volunteer work in memory care, primary care clinics, and health education programs has given me a diverse understanding of patient needs across different environments.I thrive in fast-paced healthcare settings where teamwork, adaptability, and attention to detail are crucial to ensuring positive patient outcomes.
