As the Steel Mags Fort Bragg Chapter lead, I deal with a wide range of responsibilities from ensuring I identify legitimate needs that the GBF needs to be aware of in the community to raising support and awareness for GBF proper, the Steel Mags and other selected philanthropic efforts in my community and nationally. I am responsible for organizing the chapter for vetting new candidates; ensuring the chapter has clear and concise communications both to the Green Beret Foundation and throughout Chapter membership; fostering not only a positive environment but taking a step further ensuring I am energizing and motivating the chapter and group at large; educating the internal community and public about GBF and the Steel Mags; expeditiously and productively resolving internal and external conflicts; working with the chapter to develop the annual proof of concept (annual proposal including philanthropic impact goals, fundraising goals. and budget); facilitating needs of the group whether that means seeking guidance from Executive Leadership because of the specific need, or addressing concerns on a chapter level;I am responsible for a number of important administrative, programatic and organizational requirements such as ensuring meeting minutes are taken and recorded; and ensuring all monies raised are accurately accounted for and expeditiously forwarded to the Green Beret Foundation. I work closely with GBF staff developing annual and event specific budgets in addition to planning and executing events when appropriate.The sorority was established as a support system for the Quiet Professionals behind the Quiet Professionals. The Steel Mags sorority has evolved into a legitimate and recognized program under the Green Beret Foundation throughout the Special Forces and Special Operations Forces Communities. Organized nationally in eight chapters, each chapter is responsible for developing plans for fundraising and philanthropic work each year locally and nationally.
