I was the sole UX researcher and provided usability support for all 12 product teams, as well as market research and support for strategic initiatives. My efforts helped ZenBusiness become a Series C start up with a $1.7 billion dollar valuation.Designed, conducted, analyzed, and reported data gathered from qualitative and quantitative research techniques at various stages of product development. Led several mix-mode research projects, including one survey of customer preference that led to preventing a partnership deal that saved the company $100,000.Generated new knowledge through discovery research, including one usability study that led to the development of a new product.Planned, designed and organized research efforts; including establishing best practices and processes for involving stakeholders by building a research repository.Worked with cross-functional teams in design thinking methods to help them gain empathy for the end user, solve problems creatively and stimulate innovation. Worked directly with product design to research design concepts for several products.Promoted a culture of empathy for the end user, as seen through the focus on quantitative benchmarksPlanned, executed, and oversaw product inspection and testing for quality and conformance to specifications and deliverables. I was a UX Research and Design Intern for a learning lab at Michigan State University contributing to the development of a social network for academic researchers.Planned, led, and synthesized research sessions using qualitative and quantitative methods. Developed actionable insights based on research for various teams (software development, content creation, etc.) through reports and presentations.Created a system to report user feedback and bugs to an external software development team (still currently in place).Designed and iterated low fidelity mockups.

I led seminars advocating and teaching the need for accessible course design to different departments on the Michigan State campus.Worked 1-on-1 with Michigan State University professors on remediating their coursework for students with learning disabilities.Led 10+ seminars teaching the importance of accessible course design. Continuous education and practice with WCAG 2.0.
