I communicate the impact of LISC's work and our funders' support for it. I leverage multiple communications platforms, with campaigns focused on social media, press outreach, events, our websites, and corporate communications. I work in collaboration with our funders -- we can have more impact with our communications if we leverage each other’s platforms and reach.

I directed the resource development strategy for the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), a nonprofit organization that acts as a catalyst to advance energy efficiency policies, programs, technologies, investments, and behaviors. I worked with senior management and program experts to strengthen existing corporate and foundation funding relationships and to establish new ones. I was also responsible for growing support from individuals through ACEEE’s scholarship and bequest programs.

I raised grants from corporations and foundations to support the programs and operations of LISC, a national organization dedicated to transforming disinvested communities into healthy, vibrant places where all families can thrive. Since starting at LISC in 2001, I earned five promotions, progressively moving up from entry-level Development Assistant to Director of Development.As Director of Development, I led a national fund development team to raise an average of $14 million annually. I also provided strategic counsel and writing support to 30 field offices that raised an average of $40 million annually. To build lasting relationships with donors, I directed the team to create quality reports and presentations to show impact; organize volunteer events, speaking opportunities and neighborhood tours to foster deeper engagement; and produce crisp, well-written grant proposals that reflect shared strategic priorities.

As a huge sports fan, it was an honor to create athlete profiles for www.nbcolympics.com, the website for NBC’s worldwide broadcast of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. I researched athlete backgrounds and conducted interviews for “Athlete’s Voice” section of the website. I edited interview transcripts and generated text, video and still images for web layout. Duties also included writing promotional copy and supervising interns.

I evaluated over 2,000 presentation proposals each year for the Association’s conference, selecting one-third for a conference program designed to promote excellence in early childhood education. I scheduled all sessions and receptions, dealing with various logistics (e.g., A-V, room set-up/size, food/beverage). I wrote and edited copy for conference program and created the organization's first editorial manual. I maintained the conference database and acted as a contact person for 2,100 presenters.
