A Harvard attorney in dialysis? Why? Simple...twelve years ago a brilliant nephrologist named Dr.Francisco Pons requested that I use my legal, financial, psychology, and creative skills to start a fresh concept in dialysis in our Miami community. This brilliant gentleman, and the Medical Director for the Kidney Treatment Center, is my husband. Together we created and built a boutique outpatient dialysis clinic in the heart of Kendall. The concept has been, from inception, a state of the art facility, with the highest of clinical standards, in a warm, caring environment. As our beautiful Miami embodies, both our staff and patients derive from a variety of cultures, countries, languages, and races. Dialysis is a challenge to all involved...the patient, the patient's family, the staff, the physicians, and the administrators behind the scenes. At the Kidney Treatment Center, we strive to make this journey one of lofty goals clinically, and a journey as supportive and caring as possible for each of its participants! Kudos to all those professionals in this industry...I know it is one of dedication and integrity. Although I miss the daily interaction with my legal colleagues, I am blessed to have been brought to a community of such uniquely dedicated professionals!
