Bio:For the last 18 years, Elizabeth has worked at the intersection of social innovation, design, and technology building organizations from scratch and helping entrepreneurs effectively validate and execute on their ideas. Most recently, as Managing Director overseeing the Accelerator and Research Network at Harmony Labs, she managed two new programs investing in and partnering with media tech startups to use data to change our current media ecosystem. In this role, she also served on the Investment Committee for New Media Ventures' Open Call two years in a row. Prior to Harmony Labs, she was the Founding ED of Civic Hall Labs, a civic innovation lab working with NYC government agencies, nonprofits, and civic tech startups to solve pressing societal challenges like public health and social service delivery using design and tech. She oversaw the largest civic innovation challenge in the country, NYCBigApps, and mentored the winning teams two years in a row. In partnership with the Ford Foundation and the Omidyar Network, she created NYC's first pro bono tech program working with over 160 digital professionals and 30 nonprofits. She supported a diverse team of ten staff and managed an annual budget of $3 million dollars.Back in 2011, she founded the second co-working space in Los Angeles, Hub Los Angeles, in Downtown LA. As CEO, she created a community 500+ members and 30+ partner organizations across a range of sectors including Wholefoods, the LA Mayors' Office, Microsoft, General Assembly, the California Community Foundation, Postmates, and OneMedical; hosted events for over 10K guests in two years; and created and delivered programming for a variety of start-ups ranging from clean tech to fintech ventures.She is a Techstars Mentor and a proud Coro Leadership NYC alumni.
