I am currently a Biochemistry student at the University of Glasgow, investigating future internship roles and opportunities within the life and chemical sciences industries. I chose to study Biochemistry as I am most interested in the chemical processes allowing biological systems to function and most recently, I have been particularly interested in the biochemistry of gene expression. Since the start of my university career I have refined my skills in pipetting, titration, dissection, PCR and gel electrophoresis in my Biology labs, as well as exploring multiple sides of Chemistry in my quantitative and synthesis labs.My work as a laboratory assistant has increased my confidence in lab settings, and furthered my understanding on both PCR and ELISA. I am also an experienced hospitality worker with developed team working and communication skills. I have received consistent positive feedback for working with people and for working efficiently under pressure. Outside of my studies, I love to cook and play music. I am part of a strings ensemble society, in which I have played both the viola and the piano in our concerts. Throughout my childhood and into adulthood, I have loved making clothes and blankets, I currently have a particular interest in knitting sweaters and cardigans.
