RTG - Cranial and Spinal Technologies

· On call to cover overnight and weekend shifts at one of Illinois only government funded hospitals where pediatric patients are transferred for post surgical care, short and long term rehabilitation and treatment of lifelong medical conditions. · Perform Stat Diagnostic Radiologic exams and EKG's on patients that come in through the Critical Care Clinic, inpatients and outpatients that rotate through the orthopaedic clinic and spine clinic.·  Evaluate and discuss radiographs directly with the attending physician.· Image patients recovering from a variety of diagnosis's (some of which being surgical patients) such as scoliosis, spinda bifida, cerebral palsy, hip dysplasia, TBI, near death drowning and osteogena imperfecta.

· Sole technologist at a multi-physician office of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Rheumatologists performing 20+ procedures per shift while maintaining the highest quality of care.· Diagnostic Radiographs of a diverse caseload of all stages of life including post surgical total arthroplasty patients, post fracture patients, many rheumatologic conditions and severely arthritic patients requiring precise views to ensure proper visualization of the part being imaged.  · Work directly with physicians during post op surgical staple removal, stitch removal, cast placement and removal. · Assist in ultrasound guided cortisone injections, bursa aspirations of the knee and elbow, and Baker cyst fluid removal to make certain the physician is in the correct place and the fluid has been drained all while keeping a sterile environment.· Train fellow coworkers how to properly assist the doctors during in-office procedures.· Responsible for assisting in training the physicians in office EMR system and PACS.
