My role is to oversee the development of strategic communications plans to support each of Nesta’s missions, drawing on the full communications mix, including media, PR, marketing, public affairs, events, stakeholder relations and content creation. I also have line management responsibility for a Campaigns Manager.

In this role I was responsible for planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating high profile campaigns, drawing together the work of colleagues across the organisation and developing high impact messaging, communications and engagement strategies to achieve communications objectives. I also had line management responsibility for a Stakeholder.

• In this role, I was responsible for leading, developing and managing integrated, national high-level public facing campaigns which aimed to change policy and practice for people affected by cancer. This included:
• Planning and implementing strategic, innovative, outcome-focused national campaigning activity in support of Macmillan's policy calls and organisational strategy.
• Securing strategic input and integration of relevant teams across Macmillan in shaping and delivering high profile campaigns.
• Ensuring people affected by cancer were involved in the development of Macmillan’s campaigns, and that Macmillan’s influencing priorities reflected the needs of its stakeholders including people living with and.

• In this role, I led public influencing activity on Macmillan's 'Make Money One Less Worry' campaign:
• Developing overarching campaign narrative, framing issues within the financial impact of cancer effectively, and ensuring all internal colleagues were able to talk to stakeholders about the campaign consistently with.
• Working with colleagues across the Policy, Public Affairs, Media, Marketing, Financial Support and Corporate Partnerships teams to plan, develop and evaluate public campaigns on banking and insurance.
• Involving supporters, people with cancer and healthcare professionals in the campaign where possible and aligning activity on the financial impact of cancer across the organisation.
• As campaigns team lead on campaigner engagement and communications, I trialled new tools and techniques to maximise supporter engagement with campaign issues, and championed best practice in digital campaigning.

• In this role, I supported the planning, delivery and evaluation of Macmillan’s campaigns and managed Macmillan’s network of public campaigners.
• I led on and project managed various campaign activities, including a tweet your MP action against the cut to Employment and Support Allowance and a petition event and hand-in on end of life care.
• I created and executed the e-campaigner strategy for recruitment, retention and engagement, including reporting, data analysis and evaluation of activities.
• I was responsible for writing, editing and scheduling supporter communications including e-newsletters and campaign emails, developing supporter journeys and building online actions.

Recruited as an intern to support with the ‘Time to Choose’ 2015 General Election campaign, I was then kept on as a paid team assistant. My role involved supporting all aspects of campaign delivery and activities: mobilising supporters and volunteers to campaign both on and offline; lobbying MPs on cancer issues; coordinating the design, print and delivery.
