About Ellie Armstrong

Nice to meet you, my name is Ellie Rose! I'm currently studying Biochemistry and Chemical Biology at Vanderbilt University! I intend to pursue an MD after completing my undergraduate degree. My interests lie in understanding how lacking basic necessities such as nutritious food, shelter, and education can impact an individual's ability to thrive-- I particularly specialize in advocacy, outreach, and research regarding homelessness and housing insecurity. As such, the political and medicinal systems of our society are where I find myself thriving the most! Determining how we can change the status quo of healthcare and create a more holistic, wellness-centric system for all is what my academic career is tailored to. Additionally, I'm incredibly passionate about taking advantage of media as a means of advocacy and social change! I spend much of my time applying my creative marketing skills to bolster small organizations and creators, especially those who lobby for societal betterment. In my freetime, you can find me baking various desserts, taking photos with my camera, playing around with art supplies, or scheduling my next caving trip!
