Lubricant for breaking the ice, celebration, defeat, and the conversations that continued into odd hours of the night with friends. The reward of creating high quality beer is an endless adventure to assemble the perfect accomplice for those experiences, and making people happy.Side Pull Beer Company is a brewery in planning with a focus on people and session beer. Even with the ever-changing craft beer landscape, low alcohol beers like pilsner and blonde continue to rank in the top 5 for most popular styles by the Brewers Association.You can text your uncle Buck and let him know lagers are cool again. Actually, they've always been cool.Even though session beers often comprise one or two offerings on a brewery tap list, they rarely get the same respect as the Imperial offerings looming on the board. Don't get me wrong, my gateway beer (and probably favorite all time) was Torpedo by Sierra Nevada. But unfortunately these beers rarely continue to be consumed as a good conversation continues into the wee hours. Side Pull is about giving session beer their day without sacrificing the bold flavors that have popularized good beer.

And despite the outside pessimism, it's not surprising if you know the people who live here."Community" is a word that is constantly used in the beer industry, and it's understandable when so many taprooms are centers of communities. But in Detroit, community is a way of life. Having real conversations, helping a neighbor and welcoming everyone are parts of the ethos of the city. They are also much needed components of what a brewery needs to be in 2020.We feel session beer creates opportunities for a community to continue to develop and thrive, but Side Pull also has a concerted effort to be a better craft brewery for all people. Investment in diversity engagement and training are top priorities among brewing practices, and we feel they represent how a historically monochromatic business ought to operate.
