About Elorm Haligah
I graduated with a Politics degree from the University of Nottingham in 2011 and a Masters in Global Citizenship, Identities and Human Rights later on. I also founded The Young Pioneers Network in 2015, a social enterprise committed to building the political capacity of Africans on the continent and in the diaspora. From 2013 - 2017, I sat on the senior management team of youth charity Inclusive Graduates, previously Elevation Networks (EN). Inclusive Graduates tackles youth and graduate unemployment, and delivered the National Citizen Service for school children through the Cabinet Office. As a way of promoting self-employment as a viable career, Inclusive Graduates ran an enterprise campaign through the Government’s Department for Business, Innovation & Skills. I was responsible for implementing the strategy for this campaign across the Midlands region. Feeding into the diversity recruitment strategy of corporate organisations, I secured partnerships with businesses such as PwC and Deloitte, providing skills training and networking opportunities. I also ran the Great Debate Tour, the UK’s largest ever social and political forum targeted at ethnic communities on university campuses discussing social and political issues. Through this, young people from ethnic minority backgrounds have been given insight into working for Government Departments in the UK.I have worked with many senior political figures and my experience spreads internationally as I have worked with senior figures from The UK, the United Nations, the World Bank, International Monetary Fund in Washington DC and the Ghanaian Government. For almost 5 years, I worked in the UK Houses of Parliament for the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK. Through this, I worked with hundreds of parliamentarians and officials from over 50 countries, helping them to develop their capacity on various issues such as public speaking, stakeholder engagement and engaging with the public as well as thematic issues such as international trade and public financial management. In my current role, I am responsible for providing strategic support to the Government of Ghana on the institutionalisation and scale up of the Ghana Education Service Lively Minds programme. In my spare time, I love cooking and travelling.
