Responsible for the non-horticultural day-to-day operations of the 66-acre garden. Manages facility, operations, and parking managers, exhibit technicians, outside vendor partners, and others. Creates and manages $5M annual budget. Project management. Personnel management. Capital project management. Spearheads holiday experiences, including the $3M 12 Days of Christmas exhibit, $2M Neuhoff Christmas Village, etc.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Manages the physical operations of The Arboretum, including physical property (non-horticultural areas) parking, third party services, janitorial and weekend management. Directly supervises Facility Managers, Exhibit Technician, Parking Manager, Operations Manager, and the Mail Processor/Courier. Monitors repairs and maintenance to assure that they are handled in a timely manner utilizing city or other authorized services. • Supervise service contracts (e.g. food, parking, exhibit construction) and ensure compliance with contract terms and Arboretum policies and goals.• Supervise Facility Managers and Operations Manager to ensure the impeccable care and stewardship of the physical property and the smooth operation of the front gate.• Supervise the Operations Manager, ensuring the weekend operations run as smoothly as the weekday operations.• Prepare the budget for all aspects of operations; monitor the monthly profit and loss position of each responsible center and ensure compliance with the budget.• Supervise the Parking Manager, ensuring physical parking systems are fully functional. Work with the Manager to coordinate seasonal off-site parking for staff and volunteers. • Manage notes and activities of the Architecture and Construction committee each month. Report on exhibit, maintenance, and technology status at Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden.• Manage 12 Days of Christmas exhibit, including build/strike, budget, daily maintenance and reporting. • Perform a weekly walk-through with the Facility Managers of the Camp and DeGolyer houses, Rosine Hall, Visitor Education Pavilion, A Tasteful Place, RMCAG, Parking Garage, outside restrooms, and the front gate and parking areas. Visually assess the areas for cleanliness, structural soundness and safety hazards with the goal always being the visitor experience.• Primary contact with the city and outside contractors regarding all major maintenance repairs and capital projects.

Manages the daily public operations of the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden. Oversees north end parking lot and 1150 space parking garage maintenance and associated facility services; performs other functions such as fire, safety and contractual compliance and documentation for the garden; performs facility service logistical coordination and oversight as directed for special projects, public exhibits/activities;. Contributes to Team effort.• Assures that CG is ready for opening and all relevant areas are operational. • Ensures successful public engagement within CG and interacts with the public to appropriately resolve any guest issues/inquires in a professional manner.• Troubleshoot any issues, i.e. cleanliness, operational exhibits/computers, volunteer needs, etc. for appropriate resolution following established guidelines. • Appropriately responds to issues within CG, Lost Child, Emergencies, etc. according to established protocol. • Works with Parking Manager in the oversight of the North End Parking Lot and Parking Garage to ensure successful parking operations, flow, safety and facility maintenance/repairs.• Works with VP regarding assigned fire, safety and contractual procedures for compliance and appropriate documentation and follow up.• As directed, works with Public Event staff in the logistical coordination of public events relating to Facility support to ensure procedures and schedules are developed and monitored for effectiveness and efficiency.• Effectively supervises staff for efficient and productive work performance.

Responsible for the safety, security, and general operations of the Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden. Manage facilities staff and operations staff, including full-time and temporary janitorial staff. Oversee the repair and maintenance of educational exhibits in the 8-acre, $63M property. Manage the maintenance of extensive technical systems, including over 100 outdoor touch screen computers. Coordinate with the horticulture and education departments on projects and schedules in order to ensure a seamless guest experience. Author and train staff and volunteers at RMCAG in many significant areas, including emergency medical procedures, severe weather procedures, suspicious person procedures, lost/found child procedures, and emergency evacuations etc.. Work with the Director of Volunteers and Manager of Public Programs to ensure that educational galleries are properly covered by staff and volunteers. Train staff to understand the importance of delivering exceptional customer service to each guest.
