Magic Kingdom
Before being placed on Furlough in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked most recently at the Magic Kingdom as a stagehand specializing in Articulated Head technology, Puppets, and hand props. I had the opportunity to work at various staged shows over the 8 years employed with Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts, to included Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire, The Muppets Present: Great Moments in American History, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and Fantsasmic! Among the daily operating shows, I also got to work on special events, some of which were - Star Wars Weekends, helping to arm Jedi, Sith, and Bounty Hunters throughout the Galaxy - Disney's Not So Spooky Spectacular, assisting Jack Skellington to tell the Halloween tale of Mickey and his friends - Walt Disney World's Legacy Awards Dinner, thanking our extraordinary Cast Members by making sure our favorite characters could host a Magical Show in their honor. In this position, my work was focused around detailed quality control, small electronic parts replacement and troubleshooting, and daily operation and support for running shows, along with other creative skills such as painting, mold making and casting, foam sculpting, hand and machine stitching.I have been selected for a few temporary leadership roles as well, which helped build my skills in facility management and operation, personnel management, peer training, documentation, inventory management, and project estimates.
