Erica Geller is a Senior People Solutions Consultant at Nike. She possess expertise in public speaking, social media, microsoft office, social networking, advertising and 22 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "I had the pleasure of being Erica's supervisor for several years at Portland State University. She was an extremely valuable staff member of our Intramural Sports program. In my time with Erica I worked closely with her and can personally attest to her energetic work ethic and high-volume productivity. Erica's work and academic abilities were very apparent in her time working for me at Portland State. She put in countless hours studying, preparing, and executing all the school and work assignments that she was given. It has been very obvious that both her academic and professional success and growth is continually in the forefront of her mind. She is a quick learner and uses the knowledge in everyday conversations that we had. Erica is good at applying her classroom knowledge to real life problems as well, which I saw benefit her here. She is one of the sharpest people that I have had the pleasure of coming across and she always kept me on my game. Erica is a great and dynamic leader. She has a great ability to work in a group setting which we used consistently in our work at Campus Rec. Erica also has proven to me that she can train and teach an extremely diverse group of people as she did it regularly with the staff that she was called to lead. It’s because of these interpersonal skills that I firmly believe that she will make a great leader of whatever she chooses to do. " and "I had the privilege to work with Erica as an Orientation Leader at Portland State University (PSU) for two years. Erica moved up in the ranks of this position as a new orientation leader, a returning orientation leader, and then an orientation team leader. Erica was awarded these roles year after year because of her critical thinking, positive personality, and genuine care for others. Erica never settles for an answer. Erica continues to think outside the box, challenge the systems in which we live day to day, and critically examines the world around her. This translates into Erica asking “why” to the daily activities within our office, our team, and often leads to us reexamining the way in which we conduct our programs and serve students. It is apparent in everything that Erica does, that she has the best intentions for our students and families and wants to serve our campus community to the best of our ability. Orientation days can be long and exhausting, our team of 45 orientation leaders can become burned out and struggle to keep a smile on their face. Erica is always the team member who lifts up her peers, motivates them, and reminds them to laugh through the tiresome days. Her positive, goofy, and lighthearted personality cause her to be someone that people turn to when they are feeling down and need energy; Erica provides and creates a positive environment for a team just by who she is. This type of person is needed in every sector. Lastly, each of Erica’s traits I listed above stem from one key factor, her heart. I still remember after my grandfather passed away, it was right before our busy Orientation summer, students were just graduating and we were gearing up for a long three months. I came back to my office to find that Erica had left one sunflower and a kind note on my desk. It was little things such as this that reminded me about the selflessness and thoughtfulness Erica shows to others, even when life is crazy for her. Erica is selfless, cares for students and others, and can be relied on when times are tough and challenging. Erica cares for the people around her; cares for herself personally, professionally, and academically; cares for the students and families we serve; cares for the staff and faculty she interacts with; and cares for the world around her.
