Travel contract position at VCU Medical Center on an orthopedic unit.

• Respond to all emergency calls throughout the facility (population 1,200 offenders) and perform initial interventions to stabilize patient. Coordinate with on-site medical providers, mental health, lab, dental, dialysis, ophthalmology, radiology, and/or pharmacy departments as needed to improve patient outcomes.• Designated to the role of Team Lead by supervisors. Responsibilities include overseeing emergency care unit, orienting new medical staff, delegating tasks as necessary, and submitting comprehensive shift reports.• Triage, perform assessments, initiate care as directed by protocols, and monitor patients.• Experience providing medical care and psychosocial support for sensitive situations such as self-harm, substance abuse, physical and sexual abuse, terminal illnesses, and diagnosed mental health conditions.
