During my participation in the Emerging Scholars Program, I co-developed a social justice research project evaluating and addressing immigrant women’s reproductive rights. Throughout the year, Iread historical and theoretical work, conducted literature review, and engaged in content analysis under mentorship of UML Sociology Department Chair, Cheryl Llewellyn. Through this experience, I also strengthened my professional presentation skills during the Emerging Scholars mid-year event and UML's competitive Student Research Symposium, of which I was selected as a second round finalist.

During my internship at UML's LGBTQ+ Resource Center, I greeted guests to foster a welcoming environment, wrote and designed promotional/informational materials using Canva, and was directly involved in planning and promoting programming for Trans Day of Visibility.
