Paraprofessional
Current-Works cooperatively with teachers in developing/securing techniques as established by the teacher.-Assists in providing classroom instruction as directed by the teacher-Work cooperatively with the classroom teacher and Other staff members--Construct instructional material, (charts, flashcards, posters) upon teacher request.-Supervises group activities within the classroom as directed by the teacher. -Accompanies the teacher and/or students on field trips.-Assists teachers in communication with staff and parents as requested.-Performs clerical duties related to the educational program which may include typing, filing, copy machine operation, attendance, etc.-Attend staff meetings, parent conferences, and in-service/staff development programs when applicable to job responsibilities.-Provides support and intervention to students in areas of self-care skill development.-Assist students in the process of arrival and departure and with mobility as needed.-Administers medications as prescribed by students' physicians and parents, within the guidelines of the Board of Education, Nurse Practice Act, and building-Assists the special needs student, his/her parents, and school staff to understand the student's needs in relation to school, and to make appropriate adjustments to meet the student's special medical needs.-Assists in care and hygiene needs (restroom breaks, diaper changing, etc.)-Cares for students who may become ill or injured during the school day.-Perform other duties and responsibilities as established and directed by supervising teacher and/or Preschool Director.
