About Emily Garrity

With nearly 10 years of experience in advanced materials and computations, my mission is to use my research and analysis skills to support the renewable energy transition. As an associate at Clark Street Associates, I consult for semiconductor and clean-tech clients to help them strategize and secure government funding for continued R&D and US manufacturing efforts. During my PhD at the Colorado School of Mines, my research included identifying new semiconductors for power electronics through computational physics During my PhD I honed my skills in density functional theory, materials science, and data analysis and visualization. My work successfully inspired collaborators at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory to investigate new ultrawide band gap materials to bolster energy efficiency and power grid decarbonization. This work is complemented by my previous 5 years as a materials engineer in Boeing's Next Generation Composites research group. There I performed multi-scale modeling of polymer composites and managed a substantial project aimed at refining dimensions of wing prototypes. These experiences have sharpened my skills in molecular dynamics, finite element analysis, cross-functional team leadership, and high-exposure presentations.Specialties: communications, project management, materials science, semiconductors, renewable energy applications, modeling & data science
