    -Research focused on transient electronics used for peripheral nerve modulation with applications in neural prosthetics. -Led a project examining the effectiveness of transient cuff electrodes in providing peripheral nerve conduction blocks with kilohertz frequency alternating current (KHFAC).-Through this research, regularly performed several rodent surgical procedures: sciatic nerve exposure, nerve coaptation, implantation of long-term cuff electrodes with headcap interfacing.-Scope of the project included designing an ambulatory animal model to determine the effectiveness of using a transient device to deliver a KHFAC block for pain management applications.

    - Lab of Dr. Soohyun Lee in the Institute of Mental Health. - Mapped presynaptic inputs to S1 projecting neurons in the primary somatosensory cortex. - Optimized a behavioral paradigm utilizing optogenetics that was used to determine some of the thalamocortical interactions involved in sensory processing.- Streamlined a process for data analysis, which included writing ImageJ and photoshop macros to register and count individual cells in mouse brain sections using NeuroInfo. Aligned sections to a brain atlas to determine the neuronal connections within various regions of the thalamus. This work also allowed the Lee lab to do their own data analysis instead of outsourcing, which will greatly expedite future research.
