Registered Nurse
Currento Provides direct patient care for up to 5 patients within the Scope of the KSBN Nurse Practice Act.o Manages care of several patients with central lines, surgical incisions, ostomies, multiple drains, tube feeds, foley catheters/continuous bladder irrigation, epidurals, and PCAs. o Documents all activities in compliance with hospital policy.o Primary preceptor to new graduate nurses, new RN employees, Capstone students, and nursing students. Educates, mentors, and assesses their learning needs.o Serves as the Chair for the unit Practice Council by leading and implementing projects for quality improvement and safe patient care. Attends monthly DON Practice Council meetings.o Serves as the unit Magnet Champion by educating and preparing unit staff for the upcoming site visit for Magnet re-designation. Attends monthly Magnet Committee meetings.o Participates in unit-based activities and quality improvement projects. o Delegates appropriate tasks to unlicensed staff and follows up to ensure the job was completed. o Establishes rapport with patients, families, nurses, staff and physicians and possess special sensitivity to meeting diverse needs in varied situations. o Ensures patient safety and the highest quality care are thoroughly provided in every interaction, assessment, and intervention.
