I work as an Educator in my community, supporting local gardeners to adopt and implement Permaculture design principles. I have recently been engaged to create a Volunteer Co-ordination Strategy for my local Community House and facilitate a Permaculture interest group. In my previous life I was a Site Producer and Product Manager for Sensis. In my 5 years with Sensis I worked with developers, designers, UX and product teams to launch and maintain web and mobile advertising products. After Sensis I began consulting to Mobile Advertising clients, ultimately narrowing in on Content services. I wrote and managed blogs and web copy and developed content strategies and site architecture for websites. My expertise was communicating complex technical ideas to a non-technical audience. I have also taught a Communications unit​ for an Online University and supported local food groups by creating content and providing community & marketing services on a volunteer basis.In August 2016 I closed my Content Strategy business for health reasons. This was disappointing as the business was flourishing, but I no longer had the strength to carry on a normal working day. It was a difficult time, but when I finally achieved a diagnosis and began treating the root cause of my symptoms, I finally began to recover. I was able to return to work - part time - with some inspiring organisations in the local food sector and realised I had no regrets about leaving the corporate world. I've since built on my previous training in Permaculture to create a career that doesn't feel like work - and I'm pleased to say I will never look back!
