About Emily Miles
I was born and raised in North Carolina and attended Appalachian State University, where I majored in Religious Studies. I then earned my Master of Divinity and a certificate in Faith and Health from Candler School of Theology, focusing on the intersection of faith and well-being. In 2023, I was ordained as a deacon in the Western North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church. I currently serve as the Director of Mental Wellness at Peachtree Road UMC. It is my joy to walk alongside others and work to make health and wellness valued, prioritized, and accessible to all. I spend much of my time connecting people with resources, creating wellness content, and planning programs and events that support the mind, body, and spirit. With a strong background in health and wellness, I am a licensed and experienced yoga teacher, having taught in diverse settings such as churches, yoga studios, homeless shelters, and schools. I’ve led group fitness classes in HIIT, barre, meditation, and indoor cycling, and I’m particularly passionate about mindfulness and embodiment. Helping others connect with their bodies and cultivate awareness is at the heart of my ministry. I thrive on hard work and purposeful endeavors, but the most important aspects of my life are at home: my loving husband, Josh, and our joyful baby, Daisy.

I was selected through the North Carolina Conference of the UMC to be the Ministerial Intern at Wesley Memorial. As Intern I helped with Sunday services, communion, baptisms, funerals and church events. I was also given the opportunity to preach to the congregation on two different occasions.
