Having worked at iSE part time as a Business Development Manager on the MarketMaking Programme I applied to become a Business Consultant. The role involves design and delivery of training such as Getting started in social enterprise, Business Planning, Customer Service, Funding Finance and Sustainability, Legal Structures and Governance, Market Research, Peer to Peer; the delivery of start up support and advice on the ERDF programme Growing the SE Sector across the WM, and the design and delivery of bespoke consultancy such as stakeholder analysis, income generation, business planning, marketing, developing a trading arm etc. I also supported the development of a Social Angel Investment Network.

I took the position of BDM at iSE in November and worked until March 2011 on the Market Making project, providing business support, undertaking research and consultancy for iSE clients as well as the delivery of training and presentations on social enterprise. I also delivered 3 Walking Visit Programmes and a Wates Meet the Buyer event.

Intelligence Matters Research Consultancy Limited has been established since March 2009 and was incorporated as a social enterprise in 2010. We decided to set it up as a social enterprise as it supports those from Walsall who have been unemployed and trains them up as researchers and mystery shoppers enabling them to gain social and employment skills to support them on the route to getting employment. Intelligence Matters provides quality survey and research services such as questionnaires, data analysis, focus groups, mystery shopping etc to organisations wishing to secure data, information and intelligence from the residents and communities. We also offer business support and consultancy services such as incorporation, business planning facilitation days, feasibility studies etc. I am the Business Development Director there and my role is to seek new opportunities for work, meet with potential commissioners, write proposals and reports, manage and train the research workforce pool and deliver training.

I have had the pleasure of being a non executive Director of WDF Services Limited. WDF Services is a social enterprise set up over the banner of the Disability forum and delivers a number of products and service lines to service the disabled community such as the Adapted Housing service called 'Be Housed'. My role was to support the other Directors and business by acting as a sounding board offering business advice, support with interns, reviewing of bids and identifying potential new opportunities.

I am the first chairperson of YPEP. The board was set up via YPECOE and was established to influence young people being on the agenda for policies and infrastructure organisations. The board consists of young entrepreneurs, young people still in education, and young people working within the suppport services for enterprise.

I began at Walsall Endeavours CIC as a Development Worker and grew to become the Business Development Manager. I am SFEDI gold accredited and delivered business support via one to one or one to many sessions. I delivered and managed the Business Link Social Enterprise contract, as well as worked on the Business Link Enterprise Contract. I designed and delivered training, capacity building and awareness programmes for Walsall Endeavours, SWEDA and A2B across the Black Country.
