Emma was an Environmental Scientist in Cardno's Brisbane office. She worked within the Water and Environment Team on environmental planning, assessment and management projects. Emma commenced working at Cardno in 2012 as a student Environmental Scientist, and continued working with the company post graduation in 2013. Emma has worked on projects for a broad range of clients, including developers, construction and resource industry clients, and Local and State Government departments, and has worked on projects within Australia and Papua New Guinea. Emma has a broad range of skills which can be applied to various projects in different roles. Moreton Bay, Australia

As a Community Science Officer, Emma is involved in extensive monitoring of seagrass sites around Moreton Bay. As such, she has gained a range of skills in species identification, data entry, GPS and transect use. This role also requires volunteer training in the monitoring process and involves community engagement activities.

Emma participated in a research project aimed at reconstructing the past environment of Surrey Hills, Tasmania using palaeoecological techniques. This extended into an honours project with the scope including implications for current and future fire management.
