90 Day ContractUsing my skills as a trained Designer I update drawing over AutoCAD for the purpose of planning, communication, security, safety and documentation. Using my skills as a trained Project Coordinator I maintain documents required to track the metrics of design and construction projects to achieve successful roll-outs in Federal Government.

As a part-time employee with ECCC and BA ID student completing a thesis, I was able to offer my agile (AutoCAD) drafting and organizational skills to help with documentation used to communicate changes to the existing space between the facility team, contractors, and overseeing individuals.

• Store Openings: Create design criteria, draft plans and receive Interior Designer’s approval. Arrange contractor/trades, gather quotes, negotiate quotes, issue pay orders, schedule, site visits, order materials.
• Apply for permits for illuminated and non-illuminated store signs, negotiate costs, issue purchase orders, and coordinate installation with stores.
• Prepare space planning drawings for ordering fixtures and egress plans for fire marshals to aid in the opening of 160 new stores / one full brand (Charlotte Russe).
• Converted all construction department archives to the digital system.
• Prepared all preliminary new build proposals for the company owner.
• Delivery of post-COVID-shutdown maintenance program servicing in-store HVAC systems, updating social distancing protocol, and updating related store elements as needed to operate in the context of COVID

During a summer placement, I worked with clients and 2020 to create semi-custom kitchen designs complete with quartz counters, appliances, flooring selections, and more. Responsibilities included the maintenance of the showroom, ordering products, maintaining connections with vendors, tracking shipments, and providing exceptional customer service paired.

During my time with Groove Industries, I created new marketing tools, informed old and new clients Internationally of our product to encourage sales, and attended International site visits following up on the performance of the innovative Groove CNC machine and prefabricated gypsum forms.

As a first-time business owner over a summer, I made $65,000 in revenue, managed a marketing campaign, lead 6 painters, and completed over 100 jobs in one summer. I learned by doing how to: manage business documentation track metrics for success, strong hiring practices, manage teams/sites, close deals, manage client expectations, work at heights safety.

This Honours Arts Bachelor of Interior Design challenged me to learn high-quality drafting and design skills early on. I learned to produce quality work through frequent and attentive critique with professors.
