My educational background is in social work but I firmly believe in intersectionality and developing a variety of skills in order to make the biggest impact. I have developed and expanded services, hired and supervised teams, run conferences, dipped my toes in community organizing, taught graduate-level courses, and advocated for policy change.When I was in my early twenties, I read an interview with author Peter Singer where he said:"We make our lives most meaningful when we connect ourselves with some really important causes or issues and we contribute to them so that we feel that because we lived, something has gotten a little better than it would have otherwise. We've contributed in however small a way to making the world a better place. It's hard to find anything more meaningful than reducing the amount of unnecessary pain and suffering that there's been in this world."I am deeply committed to this work, and am always looking for new connections and relationships with people and groups interested in doing the same.
