I am the Head of Legal and Governance for Watercare Services Limited. Watercare supplies water and wastewater services to Auckland's 1.7 million people. Before moving into the governance space, I was a commercial lawyer for over 15 years. I'm an Australian, originally from Brisbane, where I studied business and law. In 2001, I moved to New Zealand and spent 3 years as a lawyer at Simpson Grierson, one of New Zealand’s largest commercial law firms. I then worked for over 10 years at AJ Park, a specialist Australasian IP firm, whilst qualifying as a patent attorney. I then worked as a lawyer and patent attorney at Potter IP for around 2 years.I am now qualified as a chartered company secretary and have been working in the in-house legal and governance space for over 7 years.
