USAID Medicines, Technologies and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) is a five-year multi-country program with the goal to help low- and middle-income countries strengthen their pharmaceutical systems to ensure sustainable access to and appropriate use of safe, effective, quality-assured, and affordable essential medicines and pharmaceutical services, including through expanded coverage of essential health services and pharmaceutical market development.

Technical leadership in Procurement, supply chain management and pharmaceutical services.

Increased supply chain visibility and transparency for both core and non-core products financed by the Global Fund in recipient countries.

Ensured successful execution of the Affordable Medicines Facility - malaria (AMFm) project.

Supply chain diagnostics/analytics and improvement. Informed real-time choices in AMFm policies and operational strategies, knowledge-based updates of approaches for program implementation.

Managerial and technical oversight for pharmaceutical supply and services management. Technical assistance to ministries of health and Global Fund grantees in implementation of procurement and supply management (PSM) activities. Policy options and PSM analyses.

Managerial and technical oversight for pharmaceuticals procurement and supply, and infusion fluids manufacture. Led collaboration on pharmaceuticals with international donors and partners like Christoffel-blinden-mission in Germany, Voluntary Services Overseas in UK. Managed procurement and supply of HIV pharmaceuticals and consumables funded by EGPAF and USAID. Designed and directed training programs for pharmacy support personnel. Liaised with Ministry of Health on licensing, medicine registration and import authorization.
