As a JD candidate at the University at Buffalo School of Law (2026), Emmanuel is ambitious. He aspires to practice law in intellectual property, administrative forms of litigation, immigration, or criminal/civil rights. Currently working as a server assistant at Waxlight Bar á Vin and an employee of the Buffalo Urban League, Emmanuel’s primary focus is becoming a legal scholar. At Medaille University, Emmanuel earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice (GPA of 3.86) with a focus on law and society, a sociological perspective of the criminal justice system with a latent emphasis on philosophy, and a minor in pre-law. As an undergraduate student, Emmanuel interned for Hodgson Russ LLP, Legal Aid Bureau, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, and 19 Ideas. As an undergrad, Emmanuel has earned numerous academic awards, making the dean’s list every semester, the Meritorious Award for Distinguished Service and Commitment to Medaille, 2021–2022, and the Medaille Award, honoring students who have made the dean’s list four semesters in a row. Medaille also recognized him for his Outstanding Contribution to Student Life. Additionally, Emmanuel employs his passion for community engagement by participating in boards and committees dedicated to civic engagement and academic research. Born in Ghana, West Africa, Emmanuel’s family origins are rooted in Monrovia, Liberia. Though he has lived in the United States since he was 4, Emmanuel takes pride in his West African heritage. His aspiration to study law is rooted in his passion for civil rights and the humanities. Emmanuel has been defined by his commitment to learning, developing genuine bonds with people and organizations, and paying it forward. Emmanuel's drive is to approach all things with the philosophy of a scholar.
