Researcher working on software testing and verification. My main interests were formal AI applied to automated test generation, automated test data generation, and model checking.My research goal was to make testing and verification much more practical and well integrated in industrial contexts. My concern was how to make software developers practice testing without (much) impacting their creative habits. My approach is then trying to automated testing and verification, and assist the developers when automation cannot really help or scale. What is now called GOFAI was quite relevant, together with more data-driven approaches, related to search-based engineering.This was a non-tenure appointment, called "special appointment" here.

Organization of a Scrum-based development process for the AdLocal product to deliver location-based mobile advertisement to customers in the US (first target market) and in Japan (second target market). Complete facilitation for a team of 5 working with Ruby, JavaScript, related test frameworks, and Git.

Core development of the AdLocal product. Development in Ruby (Merb) and JavaScript (jQuery). Automation of the execution of the complete test suite for the AdLocal product, following continuous integration practices. Use of RSpec, Hudson, and shell scripts for back-end code; Ruby, YUI, and Selenium (IDE, RC) for front-end code and integration testing.

Research on self-adaptive + secure applications for wireless sensor networks. Developed a reference architecture and implemented a prototype on TinyOS-2.x. Organized and managed three internships to implement secure routing protocols (TinyOS+MICAz and SunSPOT), and for stress-testing security solutions for TinyOS-based systems. Some of the results became open source at the time.

Worked on the engineering of robust multi-agent systems, based on decentralized management of exceptions (a.k.a. exception handling). Research on the applicability of multi-agent system models and theories to wireless sensor network. Creation and execution of a half-day tutorial on agents and wireless sensor network.

Participated in research projects related to distributed systems and intelligent agents in the Honiden group (topics: automated negotiations, intelligent assistants, and interaction modeling with formal methods).
