Through a relational and trauma-responsive research and design process, we focused on understanding the lived experiences of people impacted by Long COVID in order to identify solutions that could improve their quality of life and care. + Awarded the "Approach Matters Award” for demonstrating an exemplary, thoughtful, inclusive, and ethical approach to their work at each step of the way–recognizing that how we work is as important as what we create.

Why We Work Here is a semester-long program for high school students to investigateissues and assets in their community and design and launch transformative initiatives inresponse with community partners. We provide skill-building professional development andresources to educators and residents to strengthen local ability to support youth andcommunity development over time.Student projects are a vehicle for personal development. Through WWWH, students, as well as participating teachers and residents, will:• Develop a more informed perspective about the region,• Believe that they can make positive community change,• Have a desire and commitment to do so in their community, and• Have the skills and relationships needed to work together.During the 2016-2017 school year, we are partnering with 4 high schools in south Wood County, WI to pilot the program. 7 teachers and approximately 70 students are participating. + Co-developed initiative, from research and ideation to realization; developing professional development trainings and curricular materials; designing and coordinating experiential learning opportunities; built and overseeing budget and work plan; forging relationships with funding and programmatic partners.

Provided thought leadership, business development and strategy support to develop Purpose's cities portfolio:+ Established a working group and spearheaded the initial strategy for Purpose’s cities portfolio, a new focus within the company centered on local movement building. Built initial Purpose Cities business development collateral. + Co-developed the movement and campaign strategies for Minha Sampa (“My Sao Paulo”), an organization and technology platform created to support citizen-led campaigns to solve major urban issues in Sao Paulo, Brazil. + Led business development and played key advisory role on a new venture to develop a movement of "everyday investors"​ in legacy cities -- a community that, through the crowdsourcing of micro impact investments, financially supports revitalization projects in legacy cities, including Detroit and the Twin Cities.Consulted with more than a dozen NGOs, progressive businesses, and foundations: + Designed and facilitated a multi-day workshop for leaders in global health to build a collective strategy for attaining the Global Fund's goal of eradicating AIDS, TB, and malaria.+ Worked with a major automobile manufacturer to develop a marketing and engagement plan to increase the consumption of solar energy and close the loop on electric vehicle energy consumption in the U.S.+ Developed and delivered trainings and/or guidebooks on participation, digital technology, and social media for educators and youth empowerment organizations.+ Developed audience engagement strategy for Collectively, a non-profit editorial platform created with a coalition of the world's biggest companies to drive momentum around sustainability and normalize sustainable living.Presented Purpose's work at: + The Center for Urban Science and Progress, New York University, NYC (2013)+ The World Economic Forum's Young Global Leaders event, NYC (2013)

+ Assessed usage patterns in housing developments and public spaces in Gujarat using observation-based and qualitative research methods.+ Created housing and public space design and planning guidelines for the organization to utilize in future development projects premised on cultural sensitivity, increased disaster-resiliency, and improved water resource management.+ Evaluated and revised the organization’s community engagement and capacity building strategies.

+ Initiated, managed, and provided architectural services for multiple housing and community projects.+ Assisted in securing over $100,000 in grant funding or services from Americorps, the Home Depot, and the University of Alabama to complete several sustainable housing rehabilitation and/or new construction projects.+ Planned for and managed volunteer groups of 15 - 200 participants.

+ As the only architectural designer on staff, provided site planning, project management and design services for over 30 homes for the Hale Empowerment + Revitalization Organization.+ Designed a prototype for a home-based child care module. Created a community task force to direct the project, and forged partnerships with a modular manufacturer and volunteer builders.+ Co-chaired Structures for Inclusion 8, an annual humanitarian architecture and urbanism conference hosted by Harvard University.
