I am a substitute teacher/bus driver at Tonasket Wa. This job requires almost everything that I have ever learned in all other walks of life. Leadership, multitasking, discipline, disciplinarian and, communication, just to name a few.

Was required to be able to sort, clean and process up words, to 540 cubic yards of cardboard, and other recyclable materials a day. With the use of a industrial bailer, and one of two skid steers. I was also required to interact with the public to answer questions and, instruct and add in the moving of recyclables to the proper bins. I was also required to keep the area around the dumpsters clean and the garbage within the bins crushed down using a front end loader. I was also tasked with helping the Hazmat manager with sorting and, packaging of materials for disposal.

The quick rundown of what the USDA/WSU legume research department did, was we created new strands of peas, chickpeas and, lentils using selective breeding techniques. There where several locations that the trial plots where located so as to generate a better range of conditions for the testing of the new strands. I was a assistant to the field tech, that worked for the USAD. Most of my time was spent using a small 4’ covered sprayer on a Kabota B5001 tractor. After that, I helped with pesticide applications, maintenance with farm equipment, mainly a Zurn 150 plot combine, a Wintersteiger plot combine, and other small repairs to keep things running. During harvest, I road along within the combine, collecting the samples into their required sample bags, that where stored and later cleaned and processed. After harvest was over, I then worked in cleaning, weighing, and sorting of the sample seed. Lastly, I was one of the individuals that selected seed for the planting of the next years harvest.

In this work study, I worked under Dr. Eric Rolson, as a second round of identification of herbarium samples taken from the Smoot Hill area, near Pullman WA. This identification process required that I was able to correctly key the sample using a large assortment of books and online matteralis. I then was required to check my finding between the physical samples at the W.S.U. Herbarium and the W.U. online Herbarium. I then annotated my findings and presented them to Dr. Rolson at the end of the semester. It required me to use a very specific set of vocabulary, that is purpose built for the identification of plants in taxonomy.

My main role was to construct fire line, and render medical aid should someone get hurt, as i was the sole EMT on most of my fires. Other responsibilities were the reduction of fuel load, the planning of and commanding of a squad of firefighters (approximately 3-5 individuals). I was also expected to understand and effectively know how to fight fire in a urban environment, understand the effect of changing weather on a fire, how to properly contain and control small type 5 fires.

I was a inventory and freight night shift stocker. I worked primarily in the kitchen goods section of the store. However, I was also pulled to help stock in the rest of the store quite often. My greatest accomplishment, even though it was not recognized by higher management, was that myself and two other people were able to finish stocking and clearing the floor of the non-food items of the store before the rest of the night shift could finish stocking and clearing the grocery department. I was later moved to the produce section, as I was unable to continue working nights as I was going to collage at the time.

The chemical operations specialist operates, performs operator maintenance and/or supervises the use of NBC detection and decontamination equipment, smoke generators, and assists in the establishment, administration, training and application of NBC defense measures. The NBC NCO provides training, advice, and supervision regarding the proper use and maintenance procedures for chemical equipment and chemical operations in company and higher level organizations.

I loaded groceries, stocked shelves and did whatever clean and small jobs that were required for the continued operation of the store.
