When the pandemic hit, I knew I had to go back to school. I was delighted to discover that Law School was an option for me, and even more delighted when Osgoode granted me admission. My longstanding interest in moral philosophy, public policy, advocacy, and problem-solving has served me very well at school - placing me into a Dean's Fellowship in Contracts, a place on our competitive Tort Law Moot team, and a GPA well above the curve. The journey towards Law School, the journey that shaped me into this person, was an unusual one.One of my joys in life is standing in front of an audience. The first audience I selected was not a courtroom, but a theatre. I achieved admission to the rigorous dance program at what was then Ryerson University, but my physical athleticism did not match my intellectual capabilities. Searching for a new path, I joined the workforce and became a successful Mortgage Underwriter. I learned the joy of putting together a little case in favour of mortgage loans outside my personal lending authority. The advocacy was great, but eventually I ran out of room to grow. When I had the chance to return to the audience due to downsizing in 2016, I took it. You may have caught me as Albert Einstein on Murdoch Mysteries, or in one of my many stage performances, but I found a call for greater meaning and intellectual stimulation. At law school, I finally feel at home. I look forward to my third (time's the charm) career in law.
