About Eric Edelman
Storytelling and astronomy are my two biggest passions. I grew up near the center of Los Angeles, California, where the bright stars of Hollywood steadfastly outshine most of the stars up above, and I never found an excuse to genuinely enjoy the night sky until I went to college. Getting my MA and BA in Astronomy at Wesleyan University gave me an incredible road map to the cosmos and a newfound appreciation for the pinpricks of light dotting their way across the sky. However, I hardly think that everyone need sequester themselves in universities for years on end to gain that sort of appreciation. I am excited to be part of a movement to provide access to the night sky in all its brilliant and myriad forms to anyone with the passion and interest to seek it out.

Planetarium Director
CurrentBrought on just post-construction of the facility, I have endeavored to create a formalized and reliable planetarium operation. I manage the budget; show scheduling, acquisition, and production; event planning and staffing; student employees; and technical upkeep within the planetarium. Outside of day-to-day operational tasks, I am involved in projects and partnerships with individuals across the university and greater community to make this planetarium a place that uniquely and effectively speaks to the needs of the local population.

I led the charge on producing Slooh live shows from start to finish. Whether it had to do with guests, show subject matter, studio equipment troubleshooting, feed partners, press outreach, or handling the production studio during the live broadcast, I was on the case. Occasionally, I acted as host for live events, managing the show in front of the camera, as well as behind it.I also led a social media team, building up a content production factory for Slooh.
