I am the Chief of Police at New Smyrna Beach Police Department (NSBPD), where I lead a team of dedicated and professional law enforcement officers and staff who serve and protect our community with integrity, respect, and compassion. I have over 24 years of experience in state, local, and federal law enforcement, spanning various roles and responsibilities. In my prior career with the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, I served in a variety of key leadership positions working with domestic and international partners to combat transnational organized crime in both the physical and digital arenas. Some of these leadership positions included serving as the director of the DHS Cyber Crime Center (C3), Assistant Director in charge of all use of force equipment, training and policy, SWAT team leader and commander, and the Attache in London, England, leading a team of diplomats tasked with international capacity building and coordination in the U.K, Ireland and Iceland.My core competencies include homeland security, special tactics, cybercrime, and international cooperation. I have received multiple awards and recognitions for my achievements and contributions in these fields. As a law enforcement leadership coach and mentor for Performance Protocol, I am passionate about creating positive organizational change, developing staff, improving training programs, policies, and equipment, and building coalitions between law enforcement agencies and the public.
