Louisville Metro Chief Resilience OfficerLouisville has been selected to participate in the 100 Resilient Cities initiative, pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation and dedicated to helping cities around the world become more resilient to the physical, social and economic challenges. 100RC sets forth that resilience includes not only the ability to withstand and grow from physical shocks, such as floods and infrastructure failures, but also chronic stresses that weaken the social and economic fabric of a city, such as poverty, inequity, crime, or high unemployment. City resilience is the capacity of individuals, communities, institutions, businesses and systems within a city to survive, adapt and grow no matter the chronic stresses and acute shocks they experience. Louisville Metro Government (LMG) recognizes that physical, social, environmental, and economic shocks and stresses should be addressed in an integrated manner across not only metro agencies but in coordination with community leaders, non-profit agencies and the business community. It must do so, so that all communities, all zip codes, thrive in the face of these challenges.

Manages budgets exceeding $10 billion in FY 2015-2016. Provides stability and direction to the Cabinet leadership team. Partners with the Secretary in creating the leadership team within the Cabinet that is credited with tremendous transformation of healthcare and human service delivery. Works regularly with the members of the Kentucky General Assembly and other external public stakeholders throughout the Commonwealth.

Appointed by Kentucky Governor Paul Patton, and Governor Ernie Fletcher.Envisioned the role and program of the Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs with the Board of Commissioners, employees, parents and medical professional.Incorporated Kentucky’s Early Intervention, Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities on Education Act (IDEA) program into the Commission Initiated a new Infant Hearing Screening program serving all Kentucky Hospitals and 55,000 newborns with initial screening and audiological follow up.Designed and implemented a new support program to over 500 children who are medically fragile and in the Foster Care system. Developed creative strategies for the reinsurance of extremely high cost populations creating over $1 million in annual savings.Implemented information technology solutions to move from an entirely paper based organization toward a paperless process.Designed and implemented the organizations first Parent and Youth Advisory Councils. Incorporated trained parent representatives in all aspects of personnel hiring.
