Oversee efforts statewide to implement policies, programs, and projects in support of the Governor's goals for energy and Greenhouse Gas emission reduction, and renewable energy installation for state facilities. Oversee energy tracking for 80 million square feet of buildings and thousands of vehicles, manage ongoing grant programs and development of financing programs for renewable energy and efficiency projects, and support broader clean energy efforts at DOER, such as zero net energy buildings.

The Leading by Example Program and Green Communities Division have joined forces at DOER and I am pleased to now serve as the Division's Deputy Director, along with continuing my role as the Director of the LBE program.

Temporarily served as the Acting Director of the Green Communities Division, overseeing clean energy outreach and implementation efforts among designated green communities and other municipalities. The new Director was hired late in 2015 and I returned full-time to my position as the Director of Leading by Example.

As the first full time green purchasing employee as a state procurement agency, I oversaw statewide efforts to incorporate environmental critieria into state contracting. Starting with recycled paper, the effort quickly grew to include dozens of recycled products, products with lower and no toxic ingredients, products that supported waste minimization and resue, etc. The program eventually became a model across the country and continues to this day.
