My primary responsibility as Project Manager is to develop (and meet) revenue targets. The manifestation of this role is significantly more complex and incorporates business and client development, marketing, coordination with various engineering disciplines, software and cyber security literacy, business analytics, and identification of new technical opportunities. Although my primary responsibility to SI comes in the form of revenue generation, I meet this responsibility by continuously developing products and services that deliver value to my clients.My product is responsible for all piping beyond Class 1 (which includes Class 2, Class 3, and Balance of Plant). We support an aging fleet of nuclear power plants, with projects ranging from degradation control, structural evaluations, and large-scale remediation. My biggest challenge as the Product Manager is the modernization of MAPPro, which is our flagship software suite. This requires me to work closely with my clients to ensure we continue to meet their needs while coordinating with developers and utility cyber security teams. The work is equal parts frustration and exhilaration as we solve legacy problems while expanding the capabilities into adjacent markets.
