Served as Project Coordinator for Fall River Conservation District to facilitate a 2-year watershed assessment of the upper Cheyenne River in South Dakota. This work included the collection and analysis of biological samples, habitat data, and water-quality and flow data, monitoring site installation and maintenance, database development and maintenance, and drafting the initial Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) report.

The focus of my graduate studies was the evaluation of the impacts of urban runoff to wild brown trout in a Rapid City fishery. Data collected over 2 years, at five monitoring sites, using various automated equipment, was compared to studies documenting the effects of chemical exposure of runoff pollutants to trout. I also taught a graduate-level water-quality sampling field class in my last year at SDSM&T.

Maintain mine shafts at #6 Winze and Ross. Move crews and supplies up and down shafts. Maintain cage, pumps, guides, tracks at level entries, skip pockets. Operate and maintain skips. Clear skip chutes using high explosives. Clam sump at #6 Winze at 8250' below ground (deepest person in the Western Hemisphere at that time!).
