Designs and develops programs and work methods, prioritizing program goals objectives and developing outcome measures to evaluate initiatives for consistency with KCHA mission and priorities; gathers data, prepares reports and provides guidance to staff on the interpretation of policies and administrative plans; develops and recommends policies and recommendations for implementation, including the development of timelines and steps to ensure compliance; develops, measures and evaluates significant programs including plans, work processes, systems and procedures to achieve annual goals, objectives and work standards and plans; represents KCHA on highly visible and sensitive issues before internal and external constituencies; manages and promotes relationships with significant external customers.

Taught Project Management class every Spring quarter to Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) students in the evening; also taught Business, Government and Society; planned, organized, and communicated content to enhance student learning and professional growth; created appropriate assignments to encourage learning, the development of critical communication skills, and critical thinkingrelated to managing multiple projects.

Performed plan reviews, comprehensive planning, Housing Action Plan development, code changes, presentations to committees and council members, and represented the City on multiple committees and task forces; designed relief programs for local businesses, utilized senior/veteran levy funds for meals to dual support restaurants during pandemic and to-go meals for seniors and veterans in the community. Managed the Landlord Engagement Program; strategized and implemented systems to engage current landlords and to recruit new landlords; identified opportunities for expanding programs using leasing statistics, market data and other sources of information; performed landlord outreach efforts including: meeting with various interested parties; on-site visits at apartment complexes or realtors offices; private presentations; and coordinating landlord outreach efforts with local partners, Board of Realtors, tenant councils and other community partners.

Led the development of technical and professional work in special project planning for high-level programs. Depending on assignment, assigned to plan, organize and manage resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives which included budget management and/or system implementation. Coordinated inter-departmental workgroups providing consultative services for the development of plans, reports, studies and resolution of agency needs (these typically will include process improvements through use of Lean Six Sigma tools).

Modeled, designed, and oversaw the development of business processes. Facilitated the business process improvement project team through the definition and documentation of the existing (current state) business processes and the desired (future state) business processes. Using this information, worked with project stakeholders to identify skill gaps and cultural barriers that might prevent or reduce the project’s success at delivering agency value. In addition, I coordinate the development of test and training plans to ensure that the agency is able and ready to execute the future business processes. I also develop and organize business processes that facilitate effective and efficient goal achievement and will facilitate cross-functional teams focused on improvement. The end result of my efforts lead to the reduction or elimination of expenses, increased throughput, improved internal controls, adherence to process rules, process optimization, workflow automation, and continuous process improvement.
