Architectural Specialist
Temple-Inland/Georgia Pacific
Eastern Half Of The United States
My primary goal was to get Temple-Inland gypsum board products specified within division 09 gypsum board assemblies and 06 sheathing specifications. I organized marketing campaigns and special events to help promote Temple products throughout the region. I was also responsible for conducting AIA/CEU technical lunch and learn training programs for top tier architectural firms within my territory. I wrote technical letters and product approval requests to architects, general contractors, subcontractors, and distributors. I also lead project tracking training sessions for the 7 account managers I supported; this involved research using the McGraw Hill Construction network data base and other trade organizations. I was the most visible technical gypsum adviser within the architectural community. My last 6 months was spent under the new ownership of Georgia Pacific, where I was assigned the DensDeck product line, one of the company's cornerstone products. I spent time understanding how the various membrane manufactures and their independent sales representatives played a critical role in maintaining and growing GP's market Share.
