Senior Strategist
CurrentAs Senior Strategist, I support the ITVS development and strategy teams at the organizational level--from development operations to funder relations--while helping develop innovative projects and partnerships that connect documentary film, technology, and thematics. Over the last decade, this focus has included work such as:- Stories for Justice. A multi-year, multi-film, multi-platform partnership to spark community conversations and boost the work of people on the front line of criminal justice reform, Stories for Justice includes projects like the Philly DA docuseries.- DocSCALE. A feedback tool designed for documentary filmmakers and public television, DocSCALE uses collaborative filtering to crowdsource ideas and allow community members to explore difference and consensus, while providing valuable evaluation data on the impact of public service media. - Women and Girls Lead Global, a five-year, five-country documentary film and social change partnership with USAID, Ford, and Gates that resulted in one of the largest and most significant evaluations ever completed on the impact of documentary film in a global development setting. For details, see wglg.org. - Women and Girls Lead, a project that resulted in the largest ever slate of documentary films focused on women and girls in U.S. broadcast history, including 50 films like Half the Sky, Women War and Peace, Kind Hearted Woman, The Invisible War on PBS, supported by national engagement.- Global Perspectives Project, a documentary film exchange that brought 140 films from 80 countries to U.S. television audiences and 32 films by U.S. filmmakers to television viewers in 20 countries.
