I have a distinguished career in financial services, spanning 20 years, with both local and multinational banks in Kenya, where I have held various dynamic roles in Technology, Change Management, Strategy and Business Development. I have been a prolific change agent in the Kenyan financial services market, innovating and commercializing transformational business models and directed large organizational transformation programs in various financial institutions. I pioneered the development and commercialization of the successful mobile savings and loans banking service that has been rolled out to Kenya (M-SHWARI), Tanzania (M-PAWA), Uganda, Rwanda (MOKASH) and Ivory Coast (MOMOKASH). This service and business model has emerged as the reference model for mobile-centric financial services.I continue to drive transformative innovations in the Financial Services industry, having launched Africa’s first, fully digital banking experience, LOOP, a disruptive mobile-first and challenger bank. I have since led the charge in the repositioning of the LOOP proposition to a bank agnostic platform enabling both consumers and merchants get access to tailormade financial solutions.I am a BSc. graduate in Mathematics and Computer Science from JKUAT and completed my MBA in Strategic Management at the Strathmore Business School. I am also an alumnus of the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, having completed the Executive Leadership programme and also completed the Harvard Business School Strategic Leadership program in Inclusive Finance.I am a keen cyclist, and a fast-fading footballer. I am increasingly channeling my energy to the development and mentoring of Fintech focused start-up companies that seek to solve social problems at scale.
