About Eric Schultz
I’m a computational biologist and 5th year PhD student, planning to defend in Spring 2025. I work on machine learning tools for biology and biophysics. I have developed molecular models of chromatin-scale DNA where I’ve leveraged graph-based machine learning to speed-up estimation of thermodynamic parameters from experimental data. I’m currently working on transformer machine learning models from predicting gene expression from DNA sequence for use in characterizing novel sequence variants. Moving forward, I'm excited to transform advances in machine learning into applications in biology and human health.
