Architectural DrafterMark A. Campbell, Architects Nov 2015 - Dec 2018Miami/Fort Lauderdale AreaI created and edited construction drawings for over 30 architectural projects using AutoCAD. Became well acquainted with the various building plans: architectural, existing, demolition, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural. Learned how to scale plans in AutoCAD to create 30" X 42" or 8.5" X 11" PDFS at 1/4"=1'-0" scale.

Cg ArtistNative Vfx May 2015 - Jul 2015Fort Pierce, Florida AreaI modeled interior and exterior for architectural visualization for real estate. Some of the objects I modeled were chairs, tables, cabinets, beds, pillars, and rocks. I set up UVs for the models so they would properly display textures. I was involved in feedback to correct any problems in the scene. This included making corrections at my own discretion, highlighting problems to my supervisor, as well as making corrections from notes given by the client. Additionally, I was involved in the render process, which included setting up a render farm, setting render parameters, and fixing any problems that occurred during rendering. Maya 14 was the program used for my work, with VRay 3.0 as the render add-on. I successfully learned to become fluent in Maya, without any previous experience or training with the program.

Design Engineer3Rdi Systems Oct 2014 - Apr 2015Fort Pierce, Florida Area3rdi Systems is a sister company to Native VFX. The focus of the company was the Dream Catcher, a unique camera array used to produce real image video content for VR formats. I researched the focus heavily. I gained understanding of what products were out there already: what they did right, and how they could be improved. I designed the camera array top to bottom using SolidWorks. I calculated the field of view of each camera, and plotted it in 3-D space to show what the Dream Catcher would see. I tweaked the design to optimize the FOVs. I designed the step-by-step stitching pipeline to convert the individual images into a single VR format.

Senior ProjectSiemens Aug 2013 - Apr 2014Orlando, Florida AreaI and four other students were given the task of redesigning a fastener used in a Siemens gas turbine, with the goal of preventing a specific bolt from failing under centripetal loading. Small scale testing and finite element analysis were used to achieve this goal. Early on, my literary research was a catalyst for our success, because it allowed me to highlight an oversight in the test fixture design. This information was used to redesign the test fixture, which ultimately led to accurate and usable results. In addition, I calculated the forces and stresses present in the problem. I estimated what forces should be used to achieve fatigue failure at different numbers of cycles in bi-axial cyclic stress testing. I also plotted and analyzed the results of the test. Through our testing, we achieved results that precisely followed a log normal distribution on the S-N curve. Our fastener design greatly outperformed the control. Siemens went forward with a design similar to the one we had suggested.
