I have had a rich and impactful career journey with Ben & Jerry's for the past two decades. The unique mission and values of the company have shaped how I have led diverse projects and programs ranging from opening new scoop shops to managing social mission engagement programs to launching a new sales platform to organizing large community service projects. With each new set of responsibilities, I mastered the subject matter and overhauled processes to drive efficiency and better meet stakeholder needs. While keeping a project’s goals front and center, I was attentive to every detail and kept all key stakeholders in the loop at every step to ensure each project’s success. I built collaborative relationships across the organization and identified and capitalized on individuals’ subject-matter expertise. All along the way I was promoting Ben & Jerry's social mission and working to instill its values in the company's scoop shop owners and their staff.I am committed to continuing purpose-driven work that positively impacts Vermonters and am particularly interested in applying my program management and process improvement skills for an organization specifically addressing the housing and/or climate crises affecting Vermont deeply.

Designed social mission training material and conducted training sessions for franchisees and their staff. Identified concerns that brand campaigns and social channel posts posed for franchisees and their staff and worked with key stakeholders to provide effective communications and tools to support shops in navigating those concerns. Managed special projects for the franchising team across a broad spectrum of subject matter.-Co-created and launched the Community Changemaker initiative to empower scoop shops to better engage locally in activities promoting B&J’s values and activism initiatives, thereby increasing community impact and driving positive PR for the scoop shop. Designed training materials and led training sessions to guide shops through creating and implementing the Community Changemaker role, a new shop staff position that leads local social mission efforts while growing staff skills, engagement, and retention.-Led a team that worked with a racial equity consultant to establish strategies for B&J’s to grow the percentage of franchisees identifying as Black, Indigenous or people of color.-Launched the participation of B&J’s scoop shops in a new Unilever ice cream delivery platform to grow incremental sales. Coordinated the efforts of an internal team and a new technology vendor to bring scoop shops into the platform that facilitated sales through four national delivery partners. Created new processes and user guides, and worked with vendors to troubleshoot implementation challenges. -Developed and executed Project Joy, a pandemic-era program for scoop shops to safely donate approximately 138,000 servings of ice cream to first responders, health care workers, and other essential workers.-Led or co-led 17 half-day community service projects for 200+ people at B&J’s annual franchise convention. -
Franchise Development ManagerBen & Jerry'S Apr 2011 - Feb 2019South Burlington, Vermont, United StatesDirected the Discovery Process, a consultative franchise selling method for new franchise candidates that aimed to ensure the business opportunity was a win-win for all parties. Hired, trained, and managed the Franchise Development Specialist, who conducted the Discovery Process. Helmed the implementation of Development marketing initiatives and oversaw the Development budget. Directed the Site Selection Process through which potential new shop locations were vetted and authorized. Administered the Design & Build Process through which 30+ new shop locations were built to B&J’s specifications and 80+ existing shops were updated/renovated. Took charge of the relationship between Franchise Development and Legal to arrange for the drafting of franchise agreements, renewals, transfers, and other agreements, as well as the annual Franchise Disclosure Document. Guided the retail team through the decision-making process for dispute resolutions involving franchise development. -Hired and worked with a marketing consultant to re-envision B&J’s franchise marketing strategy and tools and led the implementation of new strategies.-Self-directed learning B&J’s Design & Build Process, and quickly determined a need for an overhaul of the process and shop specifications to better meet stakeholder needs. Partnered with the Creative Director to evolve the shop design to meet needs in the marketplace, and created or refreshed numerous documents, tracking tools, and an internal web site to better lay out the process and critical information to franchisees, architects, and general contractors.-Served as the de facto Franchising paralegal for almost one year while the position was unfilled.-Re-wrote the Site Selection Playbook for franchisees engaging in the site selection process.-Vetted and implemented a GIS application for mapping franchise territories. -Received one of two annual Ben & Jerry’s Golden Cone Awards in 2012 for making significant contributions to the company. -
