Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities: • Maintain equipment designs in the global PDM database • Ensure that all designs are fully documented with detailed component specifications • Work with the operations team to provide design for manufacturability input on equipment designs • Create detail and production drawings on custom designed equipment for global Project Engineering staff • Project Management and coordination of design projects to meet quality, delivery and cost targets as needed • Participate in supplier qualifications/audits and interface with them on quality performance

Responsibilities:Involved in design conceptualisation, optimisation, costing, manufacture, testing, repair and refurbishment of metal alloy products.Meeting with clients to establish design brief, including the concept, performance and production criteria and design review.Performing of key quality, technical and process engineering functions as well as production project management and project cost evaluation.Performing Finite Element Analysis and motion analysis of 3D models.CNC programming using Mastercam for SolidWorksProducing and compiling detailed production drawings which include work instructions, control plans and procedures, design specifications, geometric dimension and tolerance requirements, welding specifications and bill of materials in accordance with applicable standards.Projects worked on include:Design and manufacture of components for small entrepreneurial companies, automotive OEMs, and companies involved in the construction, military and mining industries. Design of custom lifting and material handling solutions for various applications including spreader/lifting beams, clamping devices including rock grabs, slab lifting devices, coil lifting devices, pipe lifting devices, vehicle lifting device, jib cranes. Punching and forming tool design and manufacture, in house and externally.Checking fixturesWelding jigs

Responsibilities:Measurement, design and fitment of carbon fibre wheels for motorbikes.Using highly accurate measurement tools to measure dimensions of standard bike wheels.Designing of aluminium hubs using CAD software to accurately fit the dimensions measured.Design of carbon fibre wheels using CAD software.Involved in the fabrication of designed parts using CNC machines.Testing of new wheel designs using CAD software and physical testing.Management of the Assembly and Machining sections of the factory.Design of molds used in the manufacture of carbon fibre rims
